Dream of Creation

In the beginning . . . was the Goddess! She lay dreaming, floating in the Great Void. She dreamed of an egg, and the egg came to be. Its shell was light pink and very delicate. The egg glowed brightly in the black empty space that was all there was.

The Goddess planted the egg in Her womb. The egg began to grow. The Goddess did not know what lay inside. But She did know that whatever was inside would keep growing if she fed it more dreams.

So She dreamed on!

Then She dreamed of earth—rich, dark soil, dry white sand, hard rocks, grand mountains. And as She dreamed, so it came to be inside the egg inside Her womb.

She dreamed of air—gentle breezes, warm and cold winds, and strong tornadoes. And as She dreamed, so it came to be inside the egg inside Her womb.

She dreamed of fire—the sun, hot blazing volcanoes, warm sizzling embers, candlelight, and lightning. And as She dreamed, so it came to be inside the egg inside Her womb.

She dreamed of water—oceans, rivers, lakes, rain, and snow. And as She dreamed, so it came to be inside the egg inside Her womb.

The earth, air, fire, and water, danced together inside the egg inside the womb of the Goddess. Together they created steam and mud. Many kinds of trees and plants sprouted out of the steam and mud. Ants, bumblebees, and other insects came to life. Butterflies and birds of all colors, sizes, and shapes flew here and there and everywhere inside the egg inside Her womb.

Deep in the ocean inside the egg inside the womb of the Goddess grew many different kinds of plants. Tiny minnows and giant fish also came to life inside the egg inside Her womb.

The Great Goddess stirred and rolled on Her side. She awoke and danced with joy. She knew that everything growing inside her magic egg was very beautiful. She loved all the new life growing inside the egg inside her womb.

The Goddess slept on. In her dreams, She saw more visions, strange images, and all types of creatures. Some had wings and some had tails. Some hopped. Some crawled. Some buzzed, and some made no sound at all.

Then, the Goddess had the most amazing vision of all. She dreamed of people. Some were black, brown, yellow, and others just very pale. Some had red hair, some had yellow hair. Some were fat and some were thin. There were short people and tall people. All that the Goddess saw in Her dreams came to be inside the egg inside Her womb.

The Great Goddess sang to all Her children inside the egg inside Her womb.

This is the song She sang:

“Dream, my children, dream.
I am with you always in your dreams.
As you dream, so shall you create,
As I have dreamed and created.
Together we will dream and create.
Together we will make the world we dream.
You and your life are precious.
You each have a special gift to give the world.
Dream, my children, dream.”

The children heard the Song of the Great Goddess. They each felt loved. They danced with joy inside the egg inside Her womb.

The egg continued to grow and grow until it became too large for even the Great Goddess to hold inside.

What am I to do? She wondered. She thought and thought for a long time. Then Her whole body began to tingle.

The Great Goddess turned Herself inside out so that She was inside the egg. Then, She planted the egg inside of everything. She planted it in the earth, air, fire, water, and all she had dreamed. She planted it inside of you and me and all four-leggeds and two-leggeds.

Now the Goddess lives inside of each one of us. If we are very quiet, we can hear the voice of the Great Goddess deep inside.

She is singing to us still. Listen:

“Dream my children dream.
Feed your creations with your dreams.
Dream the earth you want.
Dream the life you want.
Believe in yourself.
Believe in your dreams.
Become the Goddess you truly are!”
