This is a small booklet that offers suggestions for practices such as meditation and journaling. This work is intended to help women reclaim lost and forgotten aspects of ourselves. It is based on Jungian archetypal psychology. The Inner Goddess Retreat Outline can be done in its entirety as a retreat or in sections. Although it can be undertaken individually, it is also wonderful to share with your women’s group.

Dakini is available to travel and lead group retreats and or workshops in this process.

Below is a brief description of the Inner Goddess work:

In ancient times the Goddess was known as a trinity: The Virgin, Mother, and Crone. This Trinity offers a model for cultivating and balancing lost and forgotten aspects of our sacred womanhood and helps us live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

The Crone as Destroyer

We begin our explorations with the Crone as destroyer. Accessing the Crone within helps us find the capacity to open to truths that we may be denying or avoiding and to use the sword of truth to let go of old dysfunctional patterns and prepare to move on to the new.

The Virgin

The true meaning of the word virgin is to be one unto yourself, not beholden to anyone. This archetype supports us in understanding and healing issues in our lives that may be blocking us from being alone and true to ourselves.

The Virgin as Sacred Prostitute

The Sacred Prostitute is an aspect of the Virgin archetype. This aspect helps us explore and heal issues about our sexuality, our body in general, and the wounds w may have suffered that interfere with our wholeness. In this phase of the retreat, we work with the archetype of the Sacred Prostitute to help us integrate our body and sexuality with our spirituality.

The Virgin as Warrior

The Warrior is another aspect of the Virgin archetype. As we work with this archetype, we explore how we use our will, focus, and follow-through in the service of our ideal. We develop the capacity to be in our power without feeling the need to suppress ourselves or be oppressive toward others.

The Mother

Working with this archetype helps us to discover the Light (all-providing) and Dark (ungiving) Mother within, explore our issues about nurturing ourselves, our relationship with our own biological mother, and the Divine Mother.

The Crone as Wise Woman

We return to the Crone as Wise Woman/Teacher and reflect on our life experience and our own intuitive body-knowing and the unique gifts that we each have to offer the world.

The Queen, Embodiment of Integration

The archetype of the Queen is s a symbol of integration. In the retreat process we work with her by contemplating all the above aspects of ourselves and see how they work together in our life and relationships. Healing the wounds that inhibit us from accessing the qualities of the Queen helps us to access our intuition, use our will wisely in the service of our wholeness, express and enjoy our body and sexuality in a healthy manner, and be effective in the world!
